This is the Country that will benefit the most if Donald Trump is elected
In Canada, cold temperatures are no obstacle and most people want to work in the country. Perhaps because of its beautiful nature, languages spoken, multicultural values or something else completely. However, this North American country is where most people wouldn’t mind moving, for work. Especially if Donald Trump wins the election.
The Digital Country Index 2016 indicates that Canada was the most searched country online, in the work category. It reached second place in the Talent dimension of the Digital Country Index.
Canada attracted as much as 74,14% more searches than traditional immigration hub, Australia, which was second place in this category. It even beat the USA by such a large margin that even if we add up all of the searches in this category for the USA, Central America, and the Caribbean, Canada would still lead by 13,42%.
The land of maple syrup’s popularity comes as no surprise. As a highly-developed country, Canada offers plenty of employment opportunities as well as a high quality of life. Apart from the obvious advantage of being a predominantly English speaking country, with another world language not far behind, it is also very multicultural. Built on immigration, Canada can pride itself on the successful integration of its aspiring citizens into society. It also has an excellent education system, clean environment, breathtaking scenery, relatively cheap compared to other developed countries, and safe.
There are few reasons to not love Canada except perhaps a snow storm here and there. However, it has extensive employee benefits and liberal immigration policies. This distinguishes the country from the competition, makes it an employees’ paradise, and attracts a quarter of a million new permanent residents each year. Interestingly enough, working in Canada is fairly prevalent in the minds of potential newcomers compared to studying, for example. It makes up as much as 70% of all the searches in the Talent category.
With the growing perception of immigration as an issue, Canada is an example of a country that has built an inclusive aura. It has put the immigration-friendly policy in place and greatly profited from it. With Justin Trudeau advocating for further encouragement of immigration and multiculturalism on one hand and a large manifested interest in this country from global digital citizens on the other, this positive trend is likely to continue enhancing Canada’s economy and culture.
